TUMS Alumni Office New Building Inaugurated

TUMSPR News: The Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) Alumni Office new building was inaugurated by TUMS chancellor, Dr. Bagher Larijani, some authorities from the university and its alumni.
Eventually, the alumni of the oldest university in Iran would find a place to share their ideas, expertise and get together. All this made possible by TUMS chancellor's "consideration and conceptualization" as Dr. Gatmiri, the secretary of the office put it.
The secretary of TUMS Alumni Office, Dr. Gatmiri who runs TUMS Public Relations Office too, made the opening speech and briefly talked about the 3-year activities at the university mounting up to the establishment of the new building of the office for utilizing a resourceful capacity, capable of offering mutual opportunities for cultural, research and economical cooperation. He believed connecting to 60,000 alumni spread throughout the world required a delicate attitude as all of them have huge experience in their field and have valuable thoughts of their own; therefore, this look necessitates more deserved attention.
Dr. Bahadori, the head of TUMS Alumni Office said that the states universities had lacked the ability to maintain their touch with their graduate students but the opportunity has been created now.
Bahadori called for an independent and secure budget for the office and hinted at the previous monetary helps from the chancellor and the dean of Traditional Medicine Faculty, Dr. Shams Ardekani. He believed the office was the second home for himself and the 100,000 alumni of the university. He, finally thanked Dr. Larijani for all the help he had provided to legally establish the office.
In his speech Dr. Larijani said that a small, cozy office which generated lots of activities and was permitted to make use of all the university's facilities was the preliminary thought behind its establishment and said he would see into the monetary problem and take it to the university's board of trustees for a separate budget, although help from people was possible too, if directed at the office by the donors.
The other participants of the event took the platform to voice their opinions which at the end were rounded up by the chancellor and he hinted at a strong searchable internet site with a monthly electronic magazine and asked schools of the university to rapidly prepare a thorough list of their graduates and called for the management of the tasks by the alumni themselves.
