Commemorating the Faculty Member of the US Loma Linda University at TUMS

TUMSPR News: Scientific undertakings of the faculty member of Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in Loma Linda, California, Professor Mahmoud Torabinejad, were commemorated at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) School of Dentistry on May 10, 2009.


The commemoration of the former president of the American Association of Endodontics (2003 – 2004), Dr. mahmoud Torabinejad, was held at TUMS School of Dentistry at the presence of Dr. Bagher Larijani, TUMS Chancellor, Dr. Keshavars, the vice-chancellor for Education, Dr. Monzavi, the Dean of the school, and some protagonists from the university and the school.

Monzavi, the school's dean, hoped that Torabi's scientific collaboration with the school enhance and consolidate to help promote the science of dentistry in a continuum move with the outside world.

Dr. Mosafa, the head of the alumni office of the school, called the presence of Torabinejad the realization of Dr. Yalda's saying which values getting together than just remembering each other. He appreciated the establishment of TUMS Alumni Office, which is run by Dr. Moslem Bahadori, by the help of Dr. Larijani.

TUMS Chancellor by reminding Iran's Teachers Day, called commemorating Torabinejad an honor for the school and the university. Dr. Larijani by believing that being a faculty member as very important called the way faculty members touch students' hearts and shape their minds more important. He said that people like Torabinejad are good models for dentists because of their comprehensive look, scientific knowledge and character and asked for more cooperation by him and maintaining his touch with TUMS Alumni Office.

Torabinejad, before being awarded two appreciation plaques by Dr. Larijani and the Iranian Dentists Association, thanked the chancellor and other authorities of TUMS for the event and said "We should keep in mind that we are Iranian and we are proud of it and one to progress should not lose his [or her] identity". He finally said that those who are loved by all are among people who work hard and by God's will they could be successful in it.
