TUSPR News: University of Tehran in collaboration with Tehran University of Medical Sciences have a word to say amongst the top 500 universities of the world in the new 2010 edition of QS ranking of world universities.
University of Tehran (UT) in collaboration with Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) have secured a place amongst the top 500 universities of the world in the new 2010 edition of QS ranking of world universities.
UT and TUMS ranked between 401 and 450 in the latest ranking carried out by QS which is analyzing the related data in collaboration with SCOPUS, a part of Elsevier Publishing Company in 2010.
The results show that UT-TUMS have remarkably done better in life sciences and biomedicine in 2010 (257) compared to 2009 (298), reflecting an upward gradient.
Sharif University of Technology is the second Iranian university to achieve a position between 501 to 550 atop other technological universities in Iran.
Times Higher Education (THE) which used to do the analyses and ranking of world universities collaborated with Thomson Reuters this year and released the top 200 universities on September 16, 2010 by a rather different methodology from QS.
