TUMSPR News: In lines with the World Health Day initiative, a week-long program lasting from April 7 to 13, 2010 with a focus on “Urban Health” has been organized.


In lines with the World Health Day initiative, a week-long program lasting from April 7 to 13, 2010 with a focus on “Urban Health” has been organized by the help of the Ministry of Health, Tehran municipality, Ministry of Welfare and Social Security, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, the Environmental Protection Organization, Physical Education Organization, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the Iranian Red Crescent, the Revolutionary Guard, the Mobilization Organization and the Iran’s Counternarcotics Department.

The theme of each day is as follows:

Wednesday, April 7, 2010: A healthy society; health promoting schools
Thursday, April 8, 2010: Safe driving and safe environment
Friday, April 9, 2010: Healthy city; Sports, mirth, healthy behavior
Saturday, April 10, 2010: Healthy society; Healthy eating, food safety and security
Sunday, April 11, 2010: Healthy city; intersectoral cooperation, social coherence
Monday, April 12, 2010: Healthy city; clean air, smoke free environments
Tuesday, April 13, 2010: Healthy society; mobilization to prevent narcotic addiction

The vice-chancellor for Health of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) which is responsible for the health of more than 4.2 million people in Tehran has always actively participated in this yearly event.
