Health Minister Gives the Go to TUMS for Establishing Health Tourism Office

TUMSPPR News: Regarding the vast capacities for health tourism at the University and at national levels, the chancellor for Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) has suggested establishment of the office for health tourism and the minister has given the go.


Regarding the vast capacities for health tourism at the University and national levels, the chancellor for Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), Dr. Bagher Larijani, has suggested establishment of the office for health tourism and the health minister, Dr. Vahid-dastjerdi has given the University the green light to do so.

In his letter the chancellor has referred to the agreement between the ministry and Iran’s Cultural Heritage Organization on the subject for justifying his suggestion and has argued that health tourism not only could tap the health resources of the University, it but also can play a constructive role in the state’s health economy. He has also mentioned the need for a more effective coordination among the state’s universities for the subject’s materialization.

The health minister Dr. Vahid-dastjerdi, welcoming the move, has given her approval for this grass root activity and has asked the chancellor to take on the responsibility for establishing the office and a network between the medical sciences universities throughout Iran.
