TUMSPR News: The students of professor Nosrat-allah Amoli, the late provost neurosurgeon and one of the founders of Dr. Shariati Hospital, got together there to commemorate him on June 2, 2010.


The students of professor Nosrat-allah Amoli, the late provost neurosurgeon and one of the founders of Dr. Shariati Hospital, got together at the hospital's conference hall commemorate him on June 2, 2010.

The meeting participated by the head of the Alumni Office, Dr. Moslem Bahadori, the head of the Hospital and former health minister, Dr. Malekzadeh, neurosurgeons, students and the staff was an occasion to appreciate the scientific life of this man of ethics.

Professor Amoli, 1913 – 2010, finishing high school in Dar-al-Fonoun, studied medicine in Birmingham University England, surgery in Iran and neurosurgery in England. He got his professorship in 1957 from University of Tehran. His educational career is full of awards and the following are a bunch of them:
- Birmingham University (scientific medal in anatomy)
- Birmingham University (Russell Memorial award from Neurology Hospital)
- Award by Queen Elizabeth for highest mark in all final exams

Dr Amoli was a member of different international neurosurgical associations in the United States, Europe, Middle East and Egypt.

Dr. Bahadori, emphasizing on the unique ethical practice of the professor promised publication of a booklet to act a role model for students.

Dr Hedayat, a TUMS provost, called Professor Amoli an honor for the university and the country.

Dr. Shakeri, a member of the managing directors of Iran's Association of Surgeons linked the professor to Seikh Baha-aldin Amoli, a man of culture and religion during the Qajar Dynasty.
