Based on the report by the Public Relations of TUMS Children's Medical Center, the 21st International Congress of Pediatrics will be held in Tehran on October 8 – 12, 2009. This year's congress will contain “Young Researchers' Session” as a novel and attractive part, regarding the opportunity for young researchers to present their work in a scientifically valuable platform.

In 1985, the Department of Pediatrics of Tehran University of Medical Sciences organized a series of conferences to increase the level of knowledge of practicing doctors in pediatrics. A few speakers from abroad were invited for these conferences. The great success of these conferences brought up the idea of organizing a pediatric congress with international contributions. Since then an annual International Congress of Pediatrics is held in Tehran with the participation of renowned specialists from all over the world which serves as a fruitful source for exchange of knowledge and collegial relationship between pediatricians.
