"Organization of Islamic Countries" Emphasizes towards Scientific Collaborations among the Members

TUMS Public Relations News Service: According to the Deputy of OIC this major international foundation supports promotional efforts of the Islamic countries to extend scientific collaborations particularly in the field of Medicine.
Dr. Samir Bakkar Deputy of OIC and the special ambassador of the Organization of Islamic Countries in the openinig ceremony of the first conference of deans of medical faculties of Islamic countries (CDFMIC) which is being held in Kish Island of Iran said, he is hopeful this conference and the similar events can lead to prominent advances of medical sciences in Islamic countries.
He also expressed thanks to Tehran university of Medical Sciences to organize this conference and then read the message of Professor Ehsan Oghlu secretory general of the OIC to the Kish conference .
In a part of this message the secretory general pointed to the extensive range of scientific cooperations that can be developed between 75 member countries of OIC put the emphasis on this fact that OIC is the second greatest Int'l organization after UN and the Islamic, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) has a long term 10 year plan to improve the potentials of Islamic countries and the present conference leaded by Tehran university of medical sciences is a valuable programme in this area.
It must be noted that delegates of 22 countries participate in the first conference of deans of medical faculties of Islamic countries (CDFMIC) and they will discuss ways of extending scientific cooperations in medical scienses in different seminars through the three-day term of the conference and they intend to continue the process of executing the decisions of this first summit until the second conference which will be announced in the closing session of kish conference.
