TUMSPR News: The first vice-president, Mr. Parviz Davoudi, inaugurated the new building of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) School of Dentistry on May 25, 2009.
The inauguration ceremony of TUMS School of Dentistry took place on May 25, 2009 by the participation of the first vice-president, Dr. Parviz Davoudi, the Health Minister, Dr. Lankarani, TUMS Chancellor, Dr. Bagher Larijani and some other scientific and religious figures of the university.
The school's dean, Dr. Monzavi, briefed the audience on the 17-year long efforts for building the 20k square meter school which is unique to the country with full diagnostic and treatment facilities such as 3D CT Scans, advanced laboratories, LASER facilities, etc.
Mr. Davoudi, the first vice-president, emphasized the government's remarkable approach towards health, regarding the state's fifth development programme, and the effective steps taken in prevention and combat of diseases, such as access to sanitary water in rural areas as well as the management of sewage systems in urban areas and building health houses and hospitals in poorer areas of the country. He eventually hinted the 76 progress made during the present government's turn in office.
