TUMSPR News: The new building of TUMS Children's Medical Center was officially inaugurated by the first vice-president, Dr. Davoudi, The Health Minister, Dr. Lankarani and TUMS Chancellor, Dr. Larijani on May 25, 2009.
On May 25, 2009, Mr. Davoudi, the first vice-president, accompanied by the health minister and Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) chancellor, Dr. Larijani and some other academic and political figures inaugurated the Children's Medical Center new building which had been in progress for the past 15 years.
The health minister, Dr. Lankarani, while praising those involved in the construction of this national project, said 13 thousand hospital beds which amongst them 6000 were new had been added to the capacity of the state's hospitals and 7000 had been made available by renovating older hospitals. In his speech, he called the new building a good piece of hardware with the potential of developing a corresponding software, hinting at the center's leading role in educating numerous graduate and post-graduate pediatricians in the past that could now be continued with the boost it has got.
Dr. Rabaani, the center's president, by appreciating the role of all those involved in the construction of the new building, said that the time for people's concern and fears had come to an end by making all the facilities of the center available to them.
