Inauguration of Farabi Hospital’s Stem Cell Preparation Unit, Visionary Sciences Research Center from Different Perspectives

TUMSPR News: The Health Minister, TUMS Chancellor and the head of the Hospital expressed their views upon the inauguration of Farabi Hospital’s Stem-cell Preparation Unit, Visionary Sciences Research Center on February 8, 2010.
After the inauguration of Farabi Ophthalmologic Hospital’s Stem Cell Preparation Unit and Visionary Sciences Research Center, the head of the Hospital, Dr. Djabarvand, TUMS Chancellor, Dr. Bagher Larijani and the Health Minister, Dr. Vahid-dastjerdi expressed their views about the capabilities, goals and future prospects of the Hospital on February 8, 2010.
Dr. Djabarvand, the head of Farabi Hospital, while welcoming the guests said the hospital has the lead in education, research and treatment of ophthalmologic diseases in the region with 600,000 outpatient and 55000 surgical operations per annum. He also hinted at the annual publication of 70 papers in ISI-indexed journals by the researchers there.
Congratulating the anniversary of the revolution, TUMS chancellor described the Farabi Hospital to a fountain that that trenches the thirst of the interested and added that “to be able to move at the horizons of science one has to combine basic and clinical sciences and Farabi Hospital has successfully materialized this goal and that’s why it has turned to a center of excellence”.
The former TUMS faculty member, Dr. Vahid-dastjerdi, admitting the hospital to be one of the state’s centers of excellence, said that performance of any sophisticated procedure was possible at the Hospital and acknowledged that the Hospital was the best center for health tourism not only at national but at international levels and it deserved to be regarded as a center of excellence internationally.
