Dean of TUMS Medical School and the 2nd Medical Ethics Congress Secretary Meets Grand Ayatollah Saffi

Tehran University of Medical Sciences/ Public Relations English News Service: The Dean of the Medical School of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), Dr. Seyed Hassan Imami-Razavi, met Grand Ayatollah Saffi along with his colleagues, as the representatives of the executive committee of the congress of Medical Ethics which is going to be held in May 2008, to seek his guidance and message for the event.
The Dean of the Medical School of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), Dr. Seyed Hassan Imami-Razavi, and the manger of Medical Ethics Center, Dr. Parsapour and their colleagues met Ayatollah Saffi, as the representatives of the executive committee of the Congress of Medical Ethics which is going to be held in May 2008, to seek the ayatollah's guidance and message for the event.
In this visit, Dr. Imami briefed the ayatollah about the undertaken activities and the different axes of the 2nd Medical Ethics Congress which is going to take place in Iran.
The ayatollah thanked the visitors and the authorities of the congress and wished them success in achieving the goals of the congress. He also talked on the holiness of medicine in Islam and reminded them of a hadith that quotes, “The most praised prayer before God is to make a believer happy” and told the visitors that practicing medicine is a proof for the hadith and therefore this approach will turn a hospital to a shrine and the doctor will advance to higher spiritual degrees there.
Then, Grand Ayatollah Saffi talked on the way physicians treat patients and had some recommendations. Later on, he answered the questions raised by the participants.
