TUMSPR News: An agreement was signed between Tehran University of medical Sciences (TUMS) and Ministry of Health and Medical Education for holding yearly medical ethics congresses on January 30, 2010.


An agreement was signed between Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and Ministry of Health and Medical Education for holding yearly medical ethics congresses on January 30, 2010.

TUMS chancellor, Dr. Bagher Larijani, vice-minister for education, Dr. Mohagheghi, and vice-minister for research, Dr. Mostafa Ghaneie signed the agreement to concrete timely and organized medical ethics congresses.

From now on, one of medical sciences universities will hold the congress annually in October or November. TUMS Medical Ethics and History of Medicine Research Center has also been selected as the permanent secretariat of the congress.

The scientific committee is composed of 19 permanent members from different institutions and seven members among the faculty members of the volunteer university to hold the congress.

If type II or III universities volunteer to hold the congress, they will get up to 40% of financial aid by TUMS Medical Ethics and History of Medicine Research Center.
