TUMS Chancellor, the Latest Member of the Academy for Medical Sciences

TUMSPR News: Dr. Bagher Larijani and three other scientific or executive figures have been announced as the latest members of the Academy of Medical Sciences by the Supreme Council for Cultural Revolution.
Based on the latest approval of the Supreme Council for Cultural Revolution, Dr. Bagher Larijani, the chancellor for Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) has been announced as the new member of The Academy of Medical Sciences, as have been Dr. Alireza Marandi, Dr. Naser Simforoush, and Dr. Shahab al-Din Sadr.
The Supreme Council for Cultural Revolution had announced, last week, that membership in scientific academies were possible through nomination by the Council members or the academies themselves and satisfaction of some scientific criteria were essential for the nomination.
This council is headed by the president and he has signed the decision to be implemented.
TUMS chancellor, Dr. Bagher Larijani, is currently the head of the policymaking council of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, the head of TUMS Endocinology and Metabolism and Medical Ethics Reasearch centers. Dr. Alireza Marandi had been a two-term Minister of Health before, Dr. Shahab al-Din Sadr is currently the head of Iran Medical Council and Dr. Simforoush is a urologist and faculty member of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.
