Report on the symposium of Research Managers of the University

Tehran University of Medical Sciences/ Public relations News Service: Managers of research centers of the university had a special session to evaluate the research programs, their challenges and ways to improve the effectiveness, in the chancellor's office in 5th of july.
In this symposium that was also attended by Dr. larijani the chancellor of the university, several topics were discussed.
Dr. Akhondzade medical school deputy of research in his speech criticized the common approach to the research in medical sciences that is almost based completely on Basic sciences and asked for more cooperation between educationl system of the university and research centers to promote research.
Dr. Malekzadeh, head of research center of the university of gastrointestinal diseases was another participant of this session who called the lack of interest in research among postgraduate medical students, the major problem of scant studies in clinical sciences.
He said that limited funding can be considered as a cause of this situation.
Dr. Dowlati the other lectures of this session who is chief of research center of skin disorders, proposed the formation of non governmental organizations in research centers as a pathway to develop their activities and let them grow faster.
He also expressed hope that medical students studing clinical sciences in different levels will given the chance of getting familiar with pharmacy industry, closely to have a better view of drugs before beyining their independent job career.
