President Ahmadinezhad Attends the 2nd Festival of Commemorating Martyrdom of Ayatollah Motahari at Ibn Sina Hall of TUMS

TUMSPR News: Mr. Ahmadinezhad, Iran’s president, attended the 2nd festival of commemorating ayatollah Morteza Motahari at Tehran University of Medical Sciences' (TUMS) Ibn Sina Conference Hall on May 8, 2008.
Iran’s president, Mr. Ahmadinezhad, attended the 2nd festival of commemorating ayatollah Morteza Motahari at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) on May 8, 2008. In this festival, held at Avicenna (Ibn e Sina) conference hall on the 2nd anniversary of the ayatollah’s martyrdom, Dr. Zahedi, the Minister of Science, Research & technology, Dr. Larijani, TUMS’ chancellor, Hodjat al-Islam Mohammadian, the head of the leader’s representatives in universities, the festival’s secretary Hodjat al-Islam Moslehi, the late ayatollah's family, the ayatollah's fans among students and the nominees for the awards of the festival were also present.
Hodjat al-Islam Mohammadian in his speech said that one of the main objectives of the festival had been to spread the late ayatollah’s thoughts and hoped that this issue be constitutionalized in universities, schools and theological centers.
He quoted Imam J’afar al-Sadiq as saying about theologians that “Theologians are the ones whom people should refer to, they are self-made people who guard the religion and they are against lust and avarice and they abide the first Imam of Islam, Ali ibn Abi Talib (S.A.) and Similarly, Ayatollah Motahari was a good example of this hadith (Narration).
President Ahmadinejad, opened his speech by thanking God for the occasion to talk about Ayatollah Motahary's thoughts. He said the ayatollah had been a perfect man, full of niceties and brilliant thoughts.
Comparing different kinds of (Religious) scholars, the president said that some scholars gain their knowledge at the scene while they are overwhelmed by the scene but others distance themselves from the scene and look upon the scene from above and look at the horizons.
He said that some scholars look at different financial, political and cultural dilemmas superficially but some other in response to phenomenons act at gras-root levels and treat them too.
He finally hoped that all the late ayatollah's works (books, etc) be published and they would be integrated in the curricula.
