Nigerian Health Minister Recommends TUMS for Collaboration

TUMSPR News: The Health Minister of Nigeria, Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong, in an interview on March 2, 2009 with Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) Public Relations representative believes TUMS excellent enough to be recommended for collaboration.


On the evening of March 2, 2009, Health Ministers and health experts from Islamic countries, including Iran's Health Minister, Dr. Kamran Bagher Lankarani were the guests of TUMS Chancellor, Dr. Bagher Larijani at the Museum of the History of Medicine.

Having visited the museum with other ministers and being quite familiar with the capabilities of the University, due to his brother's residency as a urologist at TUMS, the Health Minister of Nigeria, Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong, in an interview with TUMS Public Relations representative, Dr. Hashemi, "Surely" recommended TUMS for collaboration with any country because of "Excellence in research and educational system".

The Minister expressed his general impression about the 2nd meeting of OIC Health Ministers in Tehran, Iran on 1 – 4 March, 2009 as "Impressive and a cause for unity among OIC".
