A New Drug for Diabetic Foot to be Unveiled by the Minister of Health of the Islamic Republic of Iran

TUMS/Public Relations English News device: A new drug for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers is going to be unveiled at Tehran University of Medical Sciences' (TUMS) Imam Khomeini Hospital Conference Hall.
The unveiling ceremony of the new drug to cure diabetic foot ulcers is going to be held at Imam Khomeini's conference Hall at the hospital. In this ceremony the minister of Health and Medical Education of Islamlc Republic of Iran, TUMS` chancellor
Dr. Larijani, ministry's vice-chancellor for Food & Drug and Iran's Presidential head of office for technological assistance.
The prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in Iran has the 5th or 6th position in burden of disease considering DALY composing a loss of 300,000 years of potential life lost due to premature death.
Neuropathy, renal and cardiac complications and diabetic foot are among serious health problems that diabetes imposes on the individual, especially diabetic foot that might end in amputation if not promptly treated.
This drug has passed its all scientific stages and is a promising treatment for the complication.
All the colleagues are invited to participate in the ceremony at Imam Khomeini Conference Hall on February 3, 2008.
