TUMSPR News: The Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Center of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) will jointly hold a workshop with the World Health Organization (WHO) in Tehran, Iran in October 2009.
Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Center, which is in affiliation with the World Health Organization (WHO) and is known to be a key research center in the Mediterranean region, will hold a joint workshop with the organization on the world osteoporosis day in 2009.
Subjects such as evaluating different aspects of osteoporosis, pathophysiology of osteoporosis, screening, biomarkers of the disease, diagnostic evaluations, diagnosis and treatment will be on the workshop’s agenda.
The participants will attend a laboratory and a densitometry center upon theoretical sessions to build up and test their knowledge and experience in action each day.
About 30 researchers will participate in the workshop from Iran and neighboring countries on October 13 – 15, 2009. The workshop will be held at the research center in Tehran, Iran.
