TUMS PR News: Following the appointment of Dr. Imami-Razavi, the former dean of Tehran University of Medical Sciences' (TUMS) School of Medicine, to deputy for health of the Ministry of Health & Medical Education, Dr. Larijani, TUMS’ Chancellor, appointed Dr. Jafarian, an associate professor of surgery, as his counselor and as the dean of the School of Medicine.

Following the appointment of Dr. Imami-Razavi, the former dean of Tehran University of Medical Sciences' (TUMS) School of Medicine, to deputy for health of the Ministry of Health & Medical Education, Dr. Larijani, TUMS’ Chancellor, appointed Dr. Jafarian, an associate professor of surgery, as his counselor and as the dean of the School of Medicine.

The appointment letter reads as follows:

Dear Dr. Jafarian,

The respected associate professor of TUMS,

Due to the new appointment of Dr. Imami-Razavi, the dean of School of Medicine, to Deputy of Health of the Ministry of Health & Medical Education, you are appointed as my counselor and the dean of the School of Medicine because of your commitments and managerial and scientific experiences.

TUMS’ School of Medicine as the largest, oldest and most important educational center of the University and its outstanding role in knowledge production and promotion in the country, all depict the vital importance of your new responsibility.

It is intended that you pursue the changes currently in progress for the promotion of education, research and new evaluatory methods in all levels, ways of recruiting faculty members, ways of student selection, the changes in the general practitioner's curriculum by advanced methods and techniques in regards to the present time’s necessities, and help, support and promote basic sciences in the faculty, develop the international relations and other running projects and prepare a ground for innovation and eloquence for the dear faculty professors and students of the faculty.
