On the last day of the exhibition held lateral to the 2nd meeting of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) on March 1 – 4, 2009 in Tehran, Dr. Abdul Aziz, the representative of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) paid a visit to Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) stall at the exhibition and participated in an interview.

Being briefed about the latest medications discovered by the University and specially, Angipars which is used for treating diabetic foot ulcers and unveiled on Feb 3, 2008 by the Health Minister, Dr. Bagher Lankarni, and Dr. Bagher Larijani, TUMS Chancellor, Dr. Abdul Aziz said: "You have to intensify your efforts in providing scholarship for Muslim countries. In the Muslim world, there are many nations, like in IDB that we have 23 member states and they really have to come and learn and go back to their countries to improve their countries in different sectors. Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, has given you resources, given you the mind [and] the ability to create things and be creative. You can give them scholarship to come and get the skills and the knowledge [so that] they can transfer [the] knowledge and knowledge from research and [by this] you can be of great great help to Muslim countries.

Dr. Hashemi, (TUMS PR representative): Yes, sir, but the University is already providing MPH courses through WHO and Malaria Management Training courses at Bandar-Abbas, and a number of foreign students are studying medical sciences there. I think you're suggesting us to intensify them. Am I right?

Dr. Abdul Aziz said: Yes, you have to intensify them. I'm not saying that you're not providing scholarships, but you have to [just] intensify them and [also] you have to market your projects in the OIC, [for example,] there are many meetings and many Islamic conferences being held. You can approach them through your government fro providing scholarship and providing information about the University and the medical centers that you have.

Dr. Hashemi: Thank you sir and appreciations for the interview.

Dr. Abdul Aziz: Thank you and May Allah bless you. I wish you a good time.

Dr. Hashemi: The same for you, Sir.
