Iran’s President Pays a Visit to Patients at TUMS Children's Hospital

Mr. Ahmadinejad, President of Iran, visited the hospitalized children at Tehran University of Medical Sciences’ (TUMS) Children's Hospital on the third day of Iranian New Year, March 23rd 2008.

Dr. Larijani, TUMS’ Chancellor & the head of the hospital Dr. Ali Rabbani accompanied the president.

Mr. Ahmadinejad while talking to the parents of hospitalized children, was briefed about the treatment course of the patients and he prayed the hospitalized children and adolescents speedy a recovery.

The president on his visit to different wards of the hospital, surgical, general and dialysis, gave some presents to the patients.


Dr. Ahmadinejad also inaugurated the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of the hospital in his visit and thanked all those who were providing services to the people, especially those involved in medical services at Norouz Holidays.

While visiting patients at Children's Hospital, the president once again said happy New Year to Iranians and said “I especially thank those who are providing services to people day and night at Norouz Holidays”. He also knew the medical staff as the best and most hard working people and said “On behalf of the nation, I thank all those, such as medical doctors, nurses, who provide medical services to people affectionately and all who provide services to people at Norouz Holidays.

Dr. Ahmadinejad called the hospital an advanced one of its kind with different specialties which had patients from most cities of the country.

He finally said that “A very good development plan has been thought of for the hospital and the employees are very well providing services here and some small difficulties regarding medications will be soon resolved”.
