Iranian National Center for Addiction Studies' New Programs

TUMS/PRNS: INCAS which is one of the TUMS reseach centers had two workshops this week for doctors working in this field and the addicts under treatment.
In the first work shop that was designed for the health workers particularly general practitioners who have addict patients being treated with alternative drugs, all the theoretic and and practical hints in this type of addiction therapy (supportive mantainance with Methadon and Buprenorphine) would be discussed in details in different lectures during 8 days of the program .
This workshop has commenced on sat. 9th of June and includes sessions of patient visit under supervision of the highly skilled physicians of INCAS .
In the other workshop that lasted 2 days initiating in 2nd of June the "Volunteers Counceling & Tests" program for HIV were executed with participation of addict patients who were possibbly contaminated with AIDS virus.
This program was presented in the form of group discussions with the leadership of INCAS psychiatrists experinced in this field.The workshop was performed with collaboration of health ministry in both areas of AIDS and addiction treatments' offices.
