An International Course on Clinical Immunology at TUMS Children's Hospital

TUMSPR News: A two-day international advanced course on clinical immunology was held at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) Children's Hospital on May 7 - 8, 2009. The two-day conference had been organized by the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS), TUMS Growth and Development Research Center (GDRC), and the Center of Excellence for Pediatrics in Iran. Based on a report by the Public Relations of TUMS Children's Hospital A two-day international advanced course on clinical immunology was held at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) Children's Hospital on May 7 - 8, 2009. The two-day conference had been organized by the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS), TUMS Growth and Development Research Center (GDRC), and the Center of Excellence for Pediatrics in Iran.

The course covered some topics and included workshops on Clinical Immunology . The course provided the opportunity for scientists and physicians in Iran and other countries to refresh their knowledge, skills and experience and practice in different aspects of Clinical Immunology such as autoimmunity & endocrinology, infectious diseases, asthma and allergy, and cancer. In addition, the event created a unique opportunity for Iranian scientists to interact with guest speakers from other countries on challenging issues in immunology. Among the guest speakers were some internationally recognized scientists as keynote speakers from Italy, France, USA, UK, Ireland, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria and Brazil.
