“Greatness of Science Lies in the Services it Provides to Humans not the Money it Creates”, the Iranian Bishop at the Late Dr. Davidian’s Memorial

TUMSPR News: The Iranian Bishop at the Late Dr. Haratoun Davidian’s memorial held at TUMS Rouzbeh Psychiatry Hospital on November 19, 2009 said that greatness of science lies in the services it provides to human beings and not the money it creates.
The Iranian bishop at the late Dr. Haratoun Davidian’s memorial held at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) Rouzbeh Hospital on November 19, 2009 said that greatness of science lies in the services it provides to human beings and not the money it creates.
In a memorial held for the commemoration of the renowned psychiatrist and faculty member of TUMS, who was an honorary member of the Academy of Medical Sciences too, the Iranian bishop said “science that does not behold God is disastrous and the one that serves people is holy”.
On moral characteristics of Dr. Davidian the bishop said: “Professor Haratoun was in one mind with children, the young and the grown-ups and felt a great sense of cordiality and his modesty was apparent in his deeds and the more he knew the more modest he was, because he was fulfilling his duty to God”. The bishop finally concluded that the greatness of science neither lied in wealth nor in formalities but in being at people's service”. He then prayed God for the opportunity given to serve people.
Armenia’s ambassador to Iran, the head of TUMS Alumni Office, Dr. Mohsen Bahadori, the dean of TUMS School of Medicine. Dr. Nayeri, the vice-chancellor for Education, Dr. Keshavarz, the head of Rouzbeh Hospital, Dr. Tehranidoust and the head of the Iranian Association of Psychiatrists, Dr. Djalali and a lot of psychiatrists, friends and family members has participated in the memorial.
