TUMSPR News: Dr. Seyed Abolfazl Saiedi, an ophthalmology protagonist and a TUMS faculty member passed away on December 6, 2009.
Dr. Seyed Abolfazl Saiedi, a Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) ophthalmology protagonist and faculty member passed away on December 6, 2009.
Dr. Saiedi, born in Neishabour in 1917, graduated in medicine from University of Tehran (UT) in 1941 and went to Lebanon to study ophthalmology in Beirut University from 1945 – 1947 and later was sent to London University in 1955 for one year for further studies. On his return, Dr. Saeidi was the first to introduce contact lenses to Iran.
