TUMS Public Relations News Service: The First Conference of Deans of Medical Faculties of Islamic Countries Inaugurated in Kish Island with High Rank Representatives of 22 Countries and Several Academic Delegations from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In the opening ceremony Professor Larijani chancellor of TUMS and president of "The First Conference of Deans of Medical Faculties of Islamic Countries " appreciated participation of the attending delegates in the conference particularly those who were coming from the far countries to Iran and wished them a pleasant stay during the conference.
He also expressed hopes that this conference as the first step of developing scientific relations among the Islam world would be effective enough to facilitate the continuation of collaborations of Islamic medical faculties in the future
After the welcome lecture of the president of CDFMIC Dr.Bakkar deputy of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) had a lecture. He admired the idea of convergence between the Islamic educational centers of medical sciences in his speech and also read the special message of the secretory general of OIC, Professor Ehsan Oghlu to the " First Conference of Deans of Medical Faculties of Islamic Countries ."
Mr. Shayesteh governor of the Kish Island was the other lecturer of the opening ceremony who welcomed the attendants of the conferense and invited the authorities of medical faculties of Islamic countries to open Int'l branches in Kish Island in collaboration with Iranian authorities.
Supreme Consultant of the Health Minister of Iran and the chairman of Int'l affairs in the health ministry Dr. Niknam also attended this session and expressed his enthusiasm towards any effort to develop the connections between Islamic medical faculties.
He also read the special message of Dr. Lankarani to CDMIC who will probably attend the enclosing session of the conference in Thuresday.
Dr. Emami Razavi secretory general of the CDFMIC and Dr. Vahid Dastjerdi head of TUMS int'l affairs office were the other lecturers of the opening session of the conferense who welcomed the attending participants and wished this conference to be successful in reaching the preplanned targets.
After the inauguration ceremony the first formal working session began before lunch to discuss about tha agenda of CDFMIC.
