TUMSPR News: The book published by Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) International Affairs, frames the university in a close up and introduces it comprehensively in a picturesque, easy to read format.
On the Occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), a comprehensive book has been published by the International Affairs Office that looks at different aspects of the university. The book frames the university in a close up and introduces it comprehensively in a picturesque, easy to read format.
This 220-page, glossy, picturesque book nearly contains all the information an academic, a would-be student or a reporter may want to know about the largest Medical Sciences University in Iran.
The book has been compiled by the project manager, Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi, (M.D.) who is the head of the International Relations Office too, and it includes in-dept information about the University Organization, Faculties, Research at TUMS, Health Care, Hospitals, Facilities of the university and the National Museum of the Medical Sciences.
The book begins by the chancellor’s message and ends by two short briefing on Iran and Tehran. The two chapters include a short history of Iran, its geography, nature, climate, demography, language, religion, culture, fauna and flora, and its economy.
In his message the chancellor, Professor Bagher Larijani, introduces the state’s medical education and health services, private and governmental, and touches briefly the history of modern education, in general, and medicine, in particular.
The chancellor assures the interested about the university and its future role: “I assure you that Tehran University of Medical Sciences is and will continue to be guided by our mission statement to operate and meet the needs of students, as well as the needs of communities.
In his message he expresses the university’s ability to set the standards of excellence for students and the community and emphasizes this point as the underlying cause for what makes this university as a shining star among counterparting universities in Iran. He wraps his message by calling the reader to join and says: “I invite you to join us as we continue to build a stronger University and enrich our communities. Together we do make a difference”.
The book has an electronic version too, 147 MB in size, but it has been broken to smaller sizes to be downloaded even at lower speeds. The files are available at this address
