In an interview with Mehr News Agency, Tehran University of Medical Sciences’ (TUMS) chancellor, Dr. Larijani, by reminding that the world ranks of University of Tehran and Tehran University of Medical Sciences proposed by Times Higher Education for 2007 have moved from 2000 to 600, hoped that the figures keep advancing to something below 500 for the year 2008.
The chancellor said that the documents sent to Times Higher Education had been more complete compared to the past and that the indices had had a satisfactory growth leading to the 600 rank.
He also pointed out that the two universities have the highest scientific output nationally and if united they can achieve their international missions. Dr. Larijani assessed the webometrics growth of TUMS as remarkable and said “We are looking forward for the trend to continue and we expect promising results to come out this year.
