TUMSPR News: A symposium on an Iranian-Islamic Model of Health Development was held at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) at Imam Conference Hall on Feb 21, 2009.


An Iranian-Islamic Model of Health Development Symposium was held at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) on Feb 21, 2009. The covered subjects included integrity in health custodianship, healthy individuals, and multidirectional health as the axis for health policies, health programs and promotion of comprehensive and equitable health services for all members of the society.

The representatives and members of the Parliament's Health Commission, the Minister of Health, Dr. Kamran Bagher Lankarani, TUMS' Chancellor, Dr. Bagher Larijani, the head of Health Ministry Policy-making Council, and some other authorities in the health domain attended the symposium.

Objectives of the symposium included defining impartable holistic health policies, discussing the challenges of health priority settings and evaluating the need for intervention to materialize the imparted policies.
