The First International Conference of Deans of Medical Faculties of Islamic Countries (CDMIC) that was held from 29th of May to 1st of June 2007 in Kish Island of I.R.IRAN published its final report to inform every participants of the decisions made in this conference.

1) The First International Conference of Deans of Medical Faculties of Islamic Countries (CDMIC), an Initiative By Tehran University of Medical Sciences was held in Kish Island, Islamic Republic of Iran from 29 May- 1st June 2007. This Conference was the first meeting of its Kind in the Islamic countries.
2) The main objectives of this conference were to promote, develop and deepen international cooperation among Medical Faculties of Islamic Countries, also to identify and introduce existing capacities and potentials of these faculties.
3) The conference, attended by deans of faculties from countries of Islamic state of Afghanistan, Republic of Azerbaijan, state of the Untied Arab Emirates, Republic of Indonesia, Republic of Uganda, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, People's Republic of Bangladesh, Republic of Tunisia, Republic of Somalia, Syrian Arab Republic, Republic of Senegal, Republic of Sudan, Sultanate of Oman, Republic of Sierra Leone, Kyrgyzstan, State of Kuwait, Republic of Lebanon, Republic of Iraq, Republic of Mali, Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Malaysia, as well as the representatives of OIC, ISESCO, WHO and highly ranking faculties of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
4) The conference was chaired by Dr. B. Larijani, the Chancellor of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
5) The conference was officially opened by recitation of Holy Quran and the national anthem of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In continuation, Dr Larijani delivered the message of H.E. Haddad Adel, the speaker of Islamic consultative assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran, addressed to the conference. Then, mr. Samir Baker from OIC General Secretariat delivered the message of H.E Akmaluddin Ihsanughlu, the General Secretary of Organization of Islamic Conference to the meeting. Also Mr. Shayeste, the head of Kish Island Free Zone, presented his speech, in continuation Dr. M.H. Niknam Adviser to the Minister and the General Director of International Affairs Office read the Ministry of Health and Medical Education delivered message of H.E. Dr. Lankarni, the minister of Health and Medical Education which addressed to the meeting. Then Dr. Emami Razavi, the Dean of Medical Faculty and scientific secretary o conference & then Dr. M. Vahid Dastjerdi, General Director of International Affairs Office, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, delivered their speeches to the conference.
6) Dr. Larijani, the chairman of the conference, presented a report of the main activities of the Medical Faculties in Islamic Republic of Iran and also a Short explanation about the agenda of the conferece.
7) The distinguished participants in the conference, during the general debate, presented their valuable viewpoints on the various subject of the agenda.
8) The conference established an open-ended working group to finalize the statement of the conference called "Kish Statement". This working group was chaired by Dr. M.H. Nicknam, adviser to the minister & the General Director of International Affairs Office, Ministry of Health and Medical Education.
9) Distinguished Delegates in the conference participated in cultural visits to historical sites of Kish Island and attended to receptions hosted by Dr. Larijani the chairman of the conference and Mr. Shayesteh the head of Kish Island Free Zone.
10) In order to achieve the objectives of the conference, three following working groups were formed and heled their first meeting.
• Ranking
• Networking
• Medical Ethics
11) The distinguished representative of Republic of Sudan declared his government readiness to host the second conference of the Islamic Countries Deans of Medical Faculties in 2008.
12) The participants of the conference unanimously adopted Kish Statement.
13) The participants of the Conference agreed to establish a Secretariat of the Islamic Countries Medical Faculties in Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
14) The Chancellor of Tehran University of medical sciences was elected as Head of the Secretariat.
15) To respect the objectives of the conference the secretariat of the Islamic Countries Medical Faculties will follow the outcomes of this meeting and report it to the next conference.
16) The participants of the conference welcomed the establishment of Forum of Medical Faculties in Islamic Countries (FMFIC)
17) The participants of the Conference unanimously adopted the present report on 31 May 2007.
