TUMSPR News: An eleven-day pilot course on Disaster Health Management and Risk Reduction (DHMR) came to a close at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) School of Public Health on July 1, 2009. The course had been held by the help of the national Disaster and Emergency Management Center.
A pilot course on Disaster Health Management and Risk Reduction (DHMR) was held at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) School of Public Health (SPH) on June 20 to July 1, 2009. The course was held by the help of the national Disaster and Emergency Management Center.
An eleven-day pilot course on Disaster Health Management and Risk Reduction (DHMR) came to a close at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) School of Public Health on July 1, 2009. The course had been held by the help of the national Disaster and Emergency Management Center.
Dr. Ambrogio Manenti, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) country office in Iran, Dr. Alireza Mesdaghinia, the dean of the school, Dr. Masoumi, the head of the center and twenty disaster health experts from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education attended the concluding session.
Manenti by emphasizing on the role of educating managers and people on the issue said the best way to act when disasters strike and before help is given by the outside world is by the people and authorities who have been trained for such circumstances.
If satisfactory results arise from evaluations by the external evaluator of this pilot course, WHO, the future courses would be held by the official participation of the organization.
