TUMSPR News: At the second national medical ethics congress in Qom, Dr. Larjani was appreciated for being one of the Islamic-oriented Medical ethics pioneers in Iran.


The second medical ethics congress held in Qom, from May 14 to 15, 2008, Dr. Bagher Larijani, the Chancellor for Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) was appreciated for being one of the Islamic-oriented medical ethics pioneers and was presented a gift by the Minister of Health, Dr. Kamran Lankarani.

The second National Congress on Islamic-oriented Medical Ethics was held by the participation of 1200 medical and paramedical experts to explore patient-doctor relationship, the new-age medicine and medical ethics, application of medical ethics in practice and legal and Sharia issues in medical ethics.

The congress was cooperatively held by the Ministry of Health & Medical Education, Shahed University, the Iranian Red Crescent Society, the Social Security Organization of Iran, Mehr Financial Institute, Qom Mobilization Forces, IRIB branch in Qom, the Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization, Qom Municipality and Partov-Teb Azma Medical Imaging Center.

The congress was first held in the holy city of Mashad in 2005.
