Tehran University of Medical Sciences/ Public Relations News Service: Ceremony of annual scholastic commencement performed in Ebnesina auditorium of medical school of the university on the first of Mehr (Sunday, 23d of September 2007).
According to this report, beginning of scholastic ceremony performed with attendance of Dr. Larijani, chancellor of TUMS; vice chancellor of education, deans of all faculties & new students in Ebnesina auditorium on the first of Mehr which is classically considered as the opening day of schools after the summer holidays in Iran.
The foundation of teaching &learning in the university is based on the interaction between professors & students, Dr. larijani said. So, the universities are only responsible for making a suitable background for them to advance in various scientific fields, he added.
Every year, more than 80% of elite students throughout the country choose Tehran University of Medical Sciences for their academic studying & the greatest honor of us is working with the most prominent professors in our country, he said.
Health sciences faculty of TUMS enjoy from special position among other faculties, Dr. Mesdaghi niya, dean of this faculty said. Students of medicine, pharmacy & dentistry can join in MPH course, epidemiology & etc in our faculty, Dr. Mesdaghi niya explained.
Dr. Mohaghegh, vice chancellor of scholar and cultural affairs, who was the other lecturer of this ceremony stated his viewpoint this way: "We are honored of having a particular scientific history in our university and we must continue the way of 70 years of medical education and research in Tehran university that is possible only through knowing our potentials & enhancing them."
Dr. fotouhi, vice chancellor of research also said: "Since 10 years ago with emphasis of supreme leader of Islamic republic of iran on research developing revolution in universities, everyone can witness our scientific developments in the international fields."
Dr. Shafiee, dean of pharmacy faculty in his speech reminded new students of the value of intelligence & talent that is gifted by God & asked them to remember God in their academic lives, too.
And at last, Dr. Keshavarz, vice chancellor of education said: "The most important point of education domain is to be informed of educational laws that are all available in TUMS website.
