TUMSPR News: The first practical course on dental implants for dentistry students was held at TUMS school of dentistry on May 22, 2010. (H)
According to the Public Relations Affiliate Office at TUMS School of Dentistry, the first practical course on dental implants was held for dentistry students on May 22, 2010 by the attendance of Dr. Soudagar, manager of school's educational department, Dr. Mahmood Hashemi, the manager of maxillofacial surgery educational team, Dr. Abbas Karimi, professor of maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Hossein Salehi, professor of periodentology, Dr. Faride Geramipanah and Dr. Hakime Siadat members of dental prosthetic team.
While the course was in process, an interview has been done with Dr. Soudagar, the manager of the educational department.
He clarified that the course was the first practical coursr on dental implants for students entering the school in 2004 and added it had been a long-wished plan to include both the theoretical and practical courses on dental implants in dentists curriculum. In the first attempt to do so last year, the subject was authorized to be taught in theory.
Dr. Soudagar then pointed out that the educational department was going to get the authorization for holding the practical courses as soon as possible.
