TUMS Doing Better in ESI Ranking during June - September 2011

TUMSPR News: Going 26 steps up the ladder, Tehran University of Medical Sciences has gained the 1278th rank in Essential Sciences Indicator for the June-September 2011 period.
Based on the news by Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) Scientometrics Office, the institute has made a 26-step progress in Essential Sciences Indicators (ESI) for the June-September 2011 and it has gained the 1278th rank among peer institutes worldwide.
Compared to the last year’s results, the University has moved up 277 ranks. In Clinical Medicine, the University has ranked 922 which it shows a 19-step betterment as it has been the case in Pharmacology and Toxicology ̶ 324th rank and a three-step progress. In Social Sciences, the University is among the top 1% by holding the 653rd rank which is 6 steps higher.
The mean number of citations per paper is 4.4 which is better than the previous figure of 4.34.
Regarding the number of citations, Iran holds the 39th rank in the world and it has kept its 42nd and 34th positions in clinical medicine and pharmacology-toxicology respectively.
