TUMS Chancellor’s Message for Avicenna’s Birthday, Physicians Day 2011

TUMSPR News: TUMS Chancellor send a message to physicians on the birthday of Avicenna and Physicians Day to honor their undertakings in alleviating pain and suffering of patients on Aug 23, 2011.


Honoring Avicenna’s contributions to medicine in his homeland, Iran, his birthday is celebrated as Physicians Day on the 23rd of August each year.

Sending a message to physicians on the occasion, TUMS Chancellor, Dr. Bagher Larijani, has appreciated the undertakings of physicians in alleviating pain and suffering of patients on Aug 23, 2011.

In his message he has hoped the physicians’ community could follow the path left by Avicenna to better serve the society and has wished the authorities could solve the problems arising from job security and working conditions of physicians, especially the younger ones, regarding the difficulties of medical field which necessitates perseverance, huge intelligence and efforts to put to day and night work.
