TUMS Otorhinolaryngology Research Center in Collaboration with the World Health Organization

TUMSPR News: The head of TUMS Otorhinolaryngology Research Center announces that the center is a registered collaborator of the World Health Organization during a visit by the Chancellor on August 16, 2011.
During a visit by the Chancellor for Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) Dr. Bagher Larijani, on August 16, 2011, the head of Otorhinolaryngology Research Center, Dr. Mohammad Farhadi, a former health minister, announced that the center had been registered as a collaborator of the World Health Organization (WHO).
He added that upon the approval of Iran’s Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME) and the WHO the Center had been authorized for teaching and doing research on deafness and hearing loss regarding the Center’s research and educational background on adult and newborn hearing screening.
Dr. Farhadi was quoted as saying that the Center is the first center in the EMRO and the sixth center in the world to be authorized by WHO to conduct educational courses and do research on deafness and haring loss.
Tehran’s urban population hearing screening program which came to an end recently was one of the projects which was being done in collaboration with WHO.
Emphasizing on the importance of collaborating with WHO and the national role the center played in Iran, TUMS Chancellor wished more success for the authorities and the staff of the center.
