Three Scientific Agreements with Beijing University of Chinese Medicine upon the Chancellor’s Visit to the University

TUMSPR News: Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine have inked three agreements in the field of medical sciences upon the visit by TUMS Chancellor to the Chinese university in late April 2011.

Based on the report by Iran’s International News Network TV Channel, Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) have signed three agreements for scientific collaborations in the field of medicine upon the visit by TUMS Chancellor, Dr. Bagher Larijani, to the Chinese university in late April 2011.

Regarding the ever-increasing prevalence of diabetes mellitus in Iran and in China that affects a population of about 70 million people there, Dr. Bagher Larijani said the establishment of a center to mutually do research on the disease, its [underlying] mechanisms, its treatment approaches and medications had been a high priority.

In a separate interview, Dr. Gao Si Hua, the Chancellor for Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, had expressed his pleasure and had said the agreement would help develop the health sector, increase the quality of health services and bring about health for the peoples of China and Iran.

Dr. Si Hua, accompanied by a number of authorities from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine had met TUMS Chancellor and visited its Faculty of Traditional Medicine in late January 2011.
