TUMS Public Relations is Awarded for being the Top Website of the University at the 12th Avicenna Festival

TUMSPR News: The website of TUMS Public Relations tops other websites of the university in the "Prominent Website" category at the 12th Avicenna Festival on February 6, 2011.


The website of TUMS Public Relations topped other websites of the university in the "Prominent Website" category at the 12th Avicenna Festival on February 6, 2011 and the director of the office, Dr. Seyed Mansour Gatmiri, attributed the achievement the PR's omnipresence at each and every corner of the university and the valuable efforts of the office's 30 employees and its 70 affiliates throughout the university.

In an interview, the TUMS PR director said the office has been able to post more that 20,000 news articles with more than 8000,000 views in the last 5 years and 60,000 photos have been selected and posted to the site among a reservoir of about 600,000 pictures taken by its photographers.

On the outcomes of the Avicenna Festival, the secretary of TUMS Alumni Office said that the Public Relations' activities have a synergistic effect on both the researchers and employees of the university and the visibility of their scientific products which will promote the university and its objectives in the long run.

On the boons of an active Public Relations Office for every [higher education] institute, the deputy for Education of TUMS Nephrology Research Center said, immediate and accurate publication of the news will rectify the mistakes and help promote those involved in this process.

TUMS Public Relations Office evolved to a digital medium from a traditionally run organization by the help of Dr. Gatmiri who has been in the office for the past five years.

The Office was also awarded at the Electronic Hospital and Telemedicine Symposium in October 2010, which was participated by the authorities of the American Telemedicine Association, for its role in promoting health through its digital media.
