The Dean for the Medical School of Australia’s New South Wales University Visits TUMS

TUMSPR News: The dean for the Medical School of New South Wales University visited Teheran University of Medical Sciences on April 10, 2011 in a bid for prospective scientific collaborations between the two institutes.


In a report by one of TUMS Public Relations reporters, the dean of the Faculty of Medicine affiliated to Australia’s New South Wales University, Dr. Peter Smith, visited Teheran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and met with the dean of TUMS School of Medicine, Dr. Nayeri, the University’s vice-chancellors for education and research, respectively, Dr. Keshavarz and Dr. Fotouhi, and the head of TUMS International Relations Office, Dr. Ghazi-khansari on April 10, 2011 in a bid for prospective scientific collaborations between the two higher education institutes.

In his introductory remarks, Dr. Ghazi-khansari referred to the University as the oldest medical sciences university in Iran with highest number of students and faculty members which stands first in education and research and has achieved the first rank in Razi National Research Festival for the eighth year in a row.

Dr. Peter Smith also introduced Sidney and its top universities and said Australia’s universities have had student and faculty exchange programs with Iran’s engineering universities for the past 20 years and announced his intent to hold similar ties in medical sciences.
