TUMS Chancellor Congratulates Nowruz 1390, the New Year on the Iranian Calendar

TUMSPR News: TUMS Chancellor, Dr. Bagher Larijani has congratulated the New Iranian Year 1390 or Nowruz 1390 to the faculties, students and staff of the University.
The Chancellor for Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) Dr. Bagher Larijani, congratulated Nowruz 1390, the New Year on the Iranian calendar, to the faculties, students and staff and thanked them for their efforts in the past year for the success they have brought about for the University.
The chancellor has referred to the success the University has achieved in the Essential Science Indicators in the fields of Toxicology, Pharmacology and Social Sciences. The University ranked among the top 1% world universities in the aforesaid fields.
Another example was the University's first rank among the state's medical sciences universities by Islamic World Science Citation Database (ISC). It ranked second among all medical and non-medical universities.
In Webometric Ranking for January 2011, the University achieved the 1011th rank and in Scholar (visibility and rich files) criterion it ranked 26th.
In Razi Science Festival, TUMS won 19 out of 36 awards of the festival which is held to honor researchers and research centers in medical sciences in the country.
TUMS has provided 45% and 30% of all Iranian papers published respectively in MedLine and ISI Web of Knowledge.
With an H-index of 49, TUMS is among top higher education institutes in the region.
Giving some other examples including cultural, administrative and organizational achievements, TUMS Chancellor has referred to the integration of Iran University of medical Sciences into TUMS [by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education] an opportunity to turn to one of the largest higher education institutes in the region with more than 6000 hospital beds, more than 2000 faculty members and more than 16000 students.
